We're on the coast of south-east Cornwall: 4 miles from Looe, 8 miles from Liskeard, 16 miles from Plymouth, 60 miles from Exeter, 140 miles from Bristol. In normal traffic, we're an hour's drive from Exeter, 2 hours from Bristol.

Our postcode is PL13 1NZ. We're pretty much in the middle of this area:

Arrival and departure times

Check-in on the day of arrival is 3pm earliest, and check-out on the day of departure is 10am latest.

To get to us

By foot: the South West Coast Path has until recently run through our land, but due to land slips our section has been closed and walkers now go near (and in some sections, along) the narrow lane (shown in yellow on the map) between Millendreath and Seaton.
If you're coming to an event or to stay in our coach house, and you plan to arrive here on foot, let us know and we'll give you a steer for the last lap.

By horse: again, if you're coming here for an event or to stay, let us know in good time before you arrive and we'll help you plan the last stage of your route for maximum pleasure and safety.

By your own wheels: for those with motors we're about an hour's drive from Exeter, and if you're coming to an event or to stay in our coach house, we'll email you precise directions before you arrive.
If you travel by bicycle, allow yourself plenty of extra time for the (very steep) Cornish hills. If you plan to bring bikes most of the way by train, you'll need to book space for them - free of charge - on nearly all train services.

By train: the nearest station is Looe (3 miles' walk or 4 miles by road) at the end of the lovely Looe Valley line. The mainline train stop is Liskeard (8 miles); some mainline trains stop at Menheniot (6 miles) and St Germans (8 miles).
If you've booked to stay in our old coach house and you'd like me to meet you at any of those places I could probably do that if you tell me a few days beforehand, and give me a fiver towards petrol. (Or for a pukka taxi service, see below.)

By bus: the nearest stop is Nomansland (1½ miles). Buses are rare beasts around here! Track them down online on the Traveline journey planner; the routes and companies covering our area change quite often, but as at 2016 it's Plymouth Citybus; Nomansland is a request stop between Widegates and Looe.
Again, if you've booked to stay in our old coach house and you'd like me to meet you at Nomansland I could probably do that if you tell me a few days beforehand, and give me a coupla quid towards petrol.

On a boat: we have half a mile of coastline, and in calm weather you could anchor offshore and head for our foreshore by small (preferably inflatable and definitely resilient) tender. Then it's a 300-foot climb up a steep path, partly scrambling up with the help of a fixed rope (not for the unfit or faint-hearted).
Otherwise head for Looe, where there are visitor berths (for more information, see http://looeharbour.com/leisure), or Millendreath, Downderry, Portwrinkle or Plymouth Sound.  Or you could just get a Brittany Ferry from Spain or France to Plymouth, and then go by train/bus/hire car/foot etc.

In an aircraft: if you fly an autogyro, you should be able to pick one of many good spots on our 35 acres of clifftop pasture in any reasonable weather conditions. If it's a hang-glider or paraglider, you'll need a steady south wind, a fair amount of skill and nerves of steel.  If a light aircraft, microlight or glider, you'll need to (a) check that we've currently got a decent clear stretch of mown/cropped grass on a level part of our pastures and (b) be pretty good at spot landings.
The nearest microlight airfields are Roche and Davidstow, and the nearest light aircraft field, Cardinham, all about 45 mins drive.
For those who eschew DIY flight, the nearest commercial/international airfields are Newquay and Exeter. (There used to be an airport at Plymouth, but that's now closed.)

If you need a taxi, you could try these. Liskeard: Tremar, 01579-342383 (who also have an 8-seater minibus), Anytime 01579-346007,  Town Cabs 01579-344678 or Express, 01579-344599.   Looe: Crystal Cars 01503-263636 or Looe Taxis 01503-262405.
